Music & Drama Education Awards nominations are now open for 2022

The Music & Drama Education Awards 2022 will return in March with an in-person ceremony after this year's virtual celebrations.

Nominations are now open for the Music & Drama Education Awards 2022, which celebrate the achievements of teachers, school departments and individuals.  

The expert judging panel and host will be announced closer to the ceremony and nominations will close on 27 September.

Taking place on 23 March 2022, the Awards will be held at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, returning for a face-to-face celebration after this year’s online event.

Nominations can be made for the following categories: 

  • Outstanding Musical Initiative
  • Outstanding Drama Initiative
  • Outstanding Music Education Resource
  • Outstanding Drama Education Resource
  • Excellence in SEND (Music & Drama)
  • Excellence in Musical Theatre
  • Excellence in Primary/ Early Years (Music & Drama)
  • Outstanding School Music Department
  • Outstanding School Drama Department 
  • Francesca Hanley Inspiration Award
  • Drama Inspiration Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award

We will also be presenting the Music Teacher and Drama & Theatre Editor’s Awards at the ceremony.

The Music & Drama Education Awards 2021 virtual ceremony is still available to watch online. Having taken place in March, the event was hosted by Alexander Armstrong and sponsored by Classic FM, the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM), the Musicians’ Union (MU) and the Music Teachers’ Association (MTA).
