This scheme of work based on Euripides’ Medea examines ways in which you might study this text at GCSE. The scheme offers ideas for on- and off-text work, as well as considering some of the design aspects of performing this text. This scheme can be used to guide students through the text in preparation for key extracts for monologues, duologues or devised work and some aspects of this scheme would also be relevant if Medea were to be chosen as your students’ live theatre performance for exam work. Each session will give you at least enough work for an hour lesson, but if fully explored each session will give enough for two or three lessons.
