The Beauty Manifesto by Nell Leyshon: Reading and exploring a set text with Year 9

We introduced The Beauty Manifesto as our Year 9 scripted text last year because of the play’s timely focus on the pressure that society places on young people to conform to certain ideals of appearance and beauty. Written in 2011, Nell Leyshon’s play was prescient in its examination of society’s increasing obsession with beauty and physical conformity.
