The Firework-Maker’s Daughter, Philip Pullman’s touching tale of adventure, imagination, believing in and standing up for yourself, is hugely popular with KS2 students and is on the primary reading spine and a frequent KS2 class book. It is an ideal starting text from which to explore themes such as reaching for your ambitions, and friendship. Aimed at KS2 students who have completed a reading of the book, and looking at the play adapted for the stage by Stephen Russell, the scheme uses a wide variety of games and drama techniques, as well as introducing students to subject-specific drama terminology.
