This scheme of work is based on two very well-known novels: primarily The Machine Gunners by Robert Westall, taken alongside Animal Farm by George Orwell. Although they are very different books, loyalty, friendship and trust are the multi-layered themes running throughout both stories. This scheme of work looks at the complex, emotional, and often irrational, nature of friendship, loyalty and trust, using the two novels and a range of drama activities to help demonstrate these themes, and also improve performance technique
