VAULT Festival launches artist development programme following cancellation

The tenth-anniversary VAULT Festival was set to commence on 25 January 2022, and would have contained over 600 shows, including theatre, comedy, immersive experiences, cabaret and live performances, but it was cancelled due to Covid-19.
Vault Festival has launched a free artist and freelancer development programme for those affected by the cancelation of VAULT Festival 2022, called VAULT Creative Studios.
The project will span four weeks, where there will be free development space for artists to use as they wish, workshops, opportunities for network building and for support.
Andy George and Adam Gray, who run the London-based VAULT Festival, said: ‘VAULT Creative Studios is a brand-new offering for us, and one we hope will provide some support to those affected by the 2022 festival’s cancellation. It’s a chance to share ideas, collaborate and feel connected to a community of artists.’

Workshops from VAULT Creative Studios include a Q&A with BBC script editor Josh Treacy and a BSL and Deaf awareness training workshop, as well as an online discussion with Lyn Gardner and VAULT Festival’s head of programming Bec Martin on the challenges facing early-career artists.
