All the world's a stage: Pan Intercultural Arts

The spirit of cultural exchange across boundaries of race, heritage, and ethnicity are burning bright thanks to Pan Arts. Freddie Machin finds out about a project they run for at-risk young people in London

In 1986 a small group of artists came together to form a performance collective – with a difference. Their mission was to see if they could create work that drew on the cultural heritage of their diverse membership and create a space for intercultural exchange.

Nearly 40 years later and Pan Intercultural Arts has reached thousands of participants and audience members in almost every corner of the world. Today they are based in the London Borough of Camden, but their reach is not limited to the capital. Their projects continue to investigate creative responses to some of the most challenging social issues that we face, right around the globe.
