The three areas of study in which students can choose to specialise will be Creative Production, Technical Production, and Management and Administration.

Admission to the academy is through an aptitude test in the student’s chosen pathway and an online application form. The test is not academic or merit-based, and no prior experience is required.

Part of the BOA Group, the academy will work in partnership with leading organisations, including Birmingham Repertory Theatre, the BBC and PRG, to provide students with access to high-quality teaching and hands-on experience in real-world settings.

This practical approach is designed to equip students with a thorough understanding of the stage and screen industry and its processes, while also enabling them to work collaboratively on real productions and undertake work placements.
