Going for gold

Drama & Theatre (D&T) and Music Teacher (MT) magazines have announced a joint campaign to celebrate UK teachers who have gone above and beyond during this extraordinary period in educational history

Do you know a music or drama teacher who has shown particular compassion, flair and creativity during the crisis? Is there someone in your organisation who truly deserves a gold star? Whether it’s yourself, your own teacher, or a colleague, we’d love to shout about it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

Many stories have arisen during the pandemic of people across all sectors doing special things to help people, or to adapt their practices to difficult new circumstances. The inherently collaborative nature of music and drama as disciplines has been particularly affected by the period of enforced isolation we have all undergone, and teachers have faced enormous challenges with no warning at all. The stories of these teachers’ work to keep their students learning, performing, and bringing joy to themselves and others, are uplifting and inspiring, and deserve to be told to as wide an audience as possible.
