Harry Potter and the Cursed Child adapted for schools in new partnership

The edited version of the play is shorter and has ‘creative techniques’ to help schools recreate magic in the production, whatever their budget.

Schools around the world will soon be able to licence and produce a new adapted version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The play has been revised and developed for secondary schools through a partnership with Broadway Licensing Group, Sonia Friedman productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions. 

Pilot productions of the school edition will take place in the UK and the US in spring 2024, with worldwide release for schools to follow shortly after; amateaur productions will then be licensed. 

Producers Friedman and Callender say: ‘We are delighted to be working with Broadway Licensing Group so that schools around the world can stage their own productions of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
