We welcome Claudine Nightingale to the editorship of Drama & Theatre.

The team at Drama & Theatre are thrilled to introduce the magazine’s new Editor, Claudine Nightingale. With a wide range of experience in publishing in the arts, and a passion for promoting the importance of drama in education, she is poised to take the publication through its next exciting era.
Claudine might be familiar to some of you, as this will be the second time she has been appointed the editorship. Claudine was Editor of the magazine between 2009 and 2012, taking the publication through a radical re-design, the introduction of primary resources, and the creation of the magazine’s first dedicated website.
Claudine comes to the Mark Allen Group from AM – a digital academic publisher – where she was Senior Publisher of the AV, Arts and Culture list. Over the last eleven years, she has led the creation of a highly successful theatre list of digital resources, working in partnership with institutions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the V&A and Shakespeare’s Globe. She also created and published the pioneering resource First Folios Compared – an Open Access website launched to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s First Folio, which brought together over 50 copies of the famous publication from over 25 institutions for the first time in history.
“I’m delighted to be back at Drama & Theatre, taking the editorial steer on this essential tool for anyone working in performing arts education,” said Claudine. “I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with the wonderful community of educators that use Drama & Theatre to support their teaching. I am keen to continue the great work of my predecessors, while also looking for new opportunities to innovate and enhance the magazine’s ability to support and inspire this fantastic community of drama teachers and practitioners.”
Claudine would love to hear from anyone who has ideas for new features or resources. You can contact her on drama.theatre@markallengroup.com.
