The RSC adaptation of much-loved Studio Ghibli animated film My Neighbour Totoro is set to return to London’s Barbican later this year after its previous success.

The Royal Shakespeare Company produced the show in collaboration with Improbably and Nippon TV, and after receiving five-star reviews, the show will open again on 21 November and run until 23 March.

My Neighbour Totoro is a story of imagination and courage which asks us to trust the youngest among us to see further than most of us dare to dream,’ says Griselda Yorke, executive producer of the RSC. ‘With our return to the Barbican, many more audiences will be able to experience the joy of Totoro and we can’t wait to welcome them.’

The stage adaptation won a total of six awards at this year’s Olivier Awards, including Best Set Design, Best Costume Design, Best Entertainment or Comedy Play and Best Director.

Priority booking for My Neighbour Totoro opened on 11 April, with public booking opening on 21 April.
