Running throughout the next week, the online activities are available on the Globe’s website, catering for a variety of age groups and abilities. There are storytelling classes for primary age students, acting classes for selected age groups, revision workshops for A Level and GCSE students, and CPD courses for teachers.
The two-hour revision workshops have already proven popular, with both Romeo and Juliet and Othello sessions selling out. These classes are led by a Globe practitioner and are designed around assessment objectives; sessions in Hamlet and Macbeth are still available.
The continuing professional development programmes for teachers include a three-hour class on teaching Shakespeare’s most well-read plays, as well as a class on how to approach Shakespeare with an anti-racist lens.
The Globe is also running five-day virtual interactive courses for young academics looking to broaden their understanding of Shakespeare through online lectures and seminars.
While the short courses are priced at £250 for five days, the workshops and storytelling classes are labeled with a ‘price that works for you’ policy, ranging from £20 upwards depending on what the attendee can donate.
Classes available to book include:
- 10 April: Macbeth storytelling (5-12 years)
- 10 April: Romeo and Juliet workshop (8-12 years)
