Splendid Productions announce productions and workshops for Autumn 2020

Theatre company Splendid Productions – a staple theatre experience for many school children across the country – have announced plans for a production of UBU by Alfred Jarry to be available for government-restriction-compliant socially-distanced performance in schools between 21 September and 30 October.

Described by the company as a 'surrealist classic', UBU explores 'power, leadership and ambition with [the company's] usual heady concoction of music, laughter, politics, foolishness and hard-hitting theatrical nonsense'.

Artistic Director Kerry Frampton will perform in the piece, which is created for a self-contained cast of two, and designed to adapt to any social distancing guidelines in effect. No lighting or additional technical equipment is required, and get-in and set-up can all be done by the cast.

Rather than specifying tour areas, Splendid will be scheduling the tour based on demand. An online form is therefore available for requesting dates, here.
