A new campaign has been launched by Society of London Theatre and UK Theatre to help ensure that every child goes to the theatre by the time they leave school.

The scheme is supported and subsidised by commercial companies across the UK, and it has been launched with the intention of the making sure every political party has the initiative on their manifesto during the next general election in 12-months time.

A spokesperson from the campaign said: ‘Once we achieve political support for this campaign, we will work in partnership with schools and theatres to ensure that our aim is delivered, especially in schools and communities where theatre trips are currently not possible.’
