To coincide with Neurodiversity Celebration Week, Vamos Theatre announce the launch of a new workshop entitled Empathising with ADHD, designed to build understanding and awareness of the condition

The training workshop, Empathising with ADHD, is a hands-on workshop where participants explore the condition through a combination of games and exercises, and was inspired by Vamos Theatre’s most recent theatre production.
After two successful tours of their award-winning show about ADHD, Boy on the Roof, Vamos Theatre discovered a need for training that would offer greater understanding of the ADHD experience. Boy on the Roof was created in collaboration with many people living with ADHD, and was named as one of The Stage’s top 50 shows of the year.
The workshop will allow participants to discover ways in which neurodivergent minds can differ from the neurotypical, and offer advice on how to create empathetic environments where the ADHD brain can flourish. The course has wide applications and can offer a range of tools to support people with the condition at home, work, or in a health or education setting. It can be of use to both organisations or individuals.
A leading theatre company in non-verbal communication training, this particular workshop has been developed by neurodivergent theatre makers Rachael Savage and Gavin Maxwell. Rachael is Vamos Theatre’s Artistic Director, and Gavin is the co-founder of GymJam Theatre and a performer and practitioner with Frantic Assembly.
