The iconic movie of 1993 and now the stage musical of the same name have put the term ‘Groundhog Day’ into the public's consciousness. It means something that goes nowhere, round in circles, endlessly repeating, déjà-vu. It describes life trapped in a rut and as such is a powerful theme for a scheme of lessons designed to develop characters, plot-building, semiotics and group collaboration from a given starting point.
