This scheme of work looks at feelings of despair using a variety of mediums: illustration, music, film and poetry. A loss of all hope is a prevalent theme in drama and literature, and the many ways it can be shown, the forms it can take and ways it can become apparent are all explored here. It also looks at how emotions are shown, not only through facial expressions, but through voice, movement and stance. There are a variety of dramatic techniques used throughout which incorporate both physical and written work to encourage independent thinking on ways to improvise a performance going forward. Each of the 6 sessions here is based on a one-hour lesson, but they can be mixed and matched as you please.
