The aim of this scheme of work is to allow the students to explore melodrama and commedia dell’arte; they can use a lot of what they learn in their work in a physical way in the future and it helps a lot with characterisation. The first 4 lessons focus on the art of melodrama; there are lots of examples of the characters online and a great resource to use is an episode of the original Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
