London drama school ArtsEd has appointed Julie Spencer as its principal.

Spencer held the position of interim principal of ArtsEd in June 2021 while an external investigation was held regarding allegations of misconduct that took place between 2012 and 2017 at the drama school.

Following the result of the investigation, the former principal Chris Hocking resigned in October last year.

Despite filling the position in April alongside her role of director of the school of acting, the appointment has only now been officially announced.

ArtsEd has also announced that its new chair of trustees will be Brian Brodie, who is currently the chief executive of Finance Freedom loan company.

Previously, Brodie chaired the board of the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and served on the board of the Royal Academy of Dance.
