The National Youth Theatre (NYT) are running Open Day workshops up and down the country, exploring self-taping for auditions. The workshops will include a Q&A where participants can elarn from NYT associate artists and ambassadors about upcoming opportunities and what to expect as a NYT member.

The Open Days are for those aged 13-25 who are interested in taking part in auditions to join the charity in 2022. Successful participants can appear on high-profile NYT productions, such as the one performed at last year’s COP26.

National Youth Theatre auditions advice from NYT Patron and Alumnus Matt Smith: “Pick a speech that you like, work as hard as you can and try your absolute best, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you don’t get in this year there’s always next year. It’s a great company and if you work hard, apply yourself and bring the right spirit, it’s a place where you can really learn and develop and a company that will nurture you.”

The tour commences on 22 January in Southampton, and runs throughout the first half of 2022.
