Independent crowdfunding publisher The Pound Project has announced that its Christmas release will be a two-part compilation of pieces written by the UK’s leading actors, directors and writers.

Curated by writer and new theatrical club THESP founder Gilly Hopper, the pieces have been written in response to the stage falling silent due to the pandemic. Intermission features ‘personal, passionate, and often moving’ words from Simon Callow, Tom Hollander, Harriet Walker, Adrian Scarborough, Tanya Reynolds, Russell Tovey, and more.

All proceeds made by THESP and its contributors will go to Acting for Others, which provides financial and emotional support to all theatre workers in times of need through 14 member charities.

Each purchase features two books containing stories, essays, speeches, and poems exploring pauses and celebrating the power of the theatre.

Intermission is on sale until 1 December and costs £12.99 plus P&P. Books will be published on 9 December and consequently sent out.
