Blackeyed Theatre announces Dracula tour

Touring company Blackeyed Theatre was established in 2004 and has produced shows such as Oh What A Lovely War, Sherlock Holmes: The Valley of Fear and Frankenstein.

Coinciding with the centenary of Dracula’s first official stage appearance, Blackeyed Theatre will be touring a new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel from September 2024.

The story was first adapted for stage in 1924, premiering in Derby at the Grand Theatre on Babbington Lane. This new production from will open in Harrogate before a week long run at Derby Theatre and a subsequent national tour. 

Adapted by Nick Lane, this production promises to blend Victorian gothic with the contemporary, showcasing Blackeyed Theatre’s trademark ensemble performance style. The show is said to feature a haunting soundscape, powerful performances and innovative design for an ‘exhilarating theatrical experience’. 

Recommended for those aged 11 and upwards, Dracula will be available for schools from 16 September to April 2025. Find more information at blackeyedtheatre.co.uk
