RWCMD announces series of masterclasses for young people

The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) has announced its upcoming series of Young People’s Production Arts (YPPA) masterclasses, taking place on Zoom in November and December.

Each session runs from 10am to 3pm, with breaks throughout the day, and costs £15. Students eligible for Free School Meals qualify for discounted prices and should email before booking. 

The three sessions in the series are: 

Stage Management (22 November)
Ages 11-18
Exploring the role of the stage management team and prop making.

Design for Performance (29 November)
Ages 11-18
Delving into the world of the set and costume designer.

Technical Theatre (13 December)
Ages 11-18
An introduction to lighting and sound for stage.

A further two ‘specialist portfolio and interview’ sessions have been announced for those interested in applying to study backstage disciplines at drama school. The sessions are two hours on Zoom, costing £10.
