Little Angel Theatre aims to inspire young children to get involved in puppet-making by interviewing a designer each week on their new ‘People Behind the Puppets' series. An easy puppet ‘make’ will feature in each video, encouraging children to create something new at home.

The first episode, featuring an interview with designer Maia Kirkman-Richards, is now available here for free. Designers Oliver Hymans, Alicia Britt and Jimmy Grimes are up next, and future episodes will include Toby Olié and Alison Alexander.

The theatre company is also offering online shows over Easter, including ‘Where the Bugaboo Lives’ and ‘Eggs on Legs’, with additional Easter craft sessions taking place from 6-9 April.

Samantha Lane, artistic director of Little Angel Theatre, encourages families to use the resources on their website, offering ‘a combination of craft and puppet-making guides and a series of videos’.

Lane also urges the public to donate to Little Angel Theatre, stating: ‘We, like so many other theatres, are devastated to have to make such a drastic closure decision. However we need to put the welfare of our performers and audiences first, and recognise our responsibility to prevent further spread of COVID-19, in line with government regulations. We are urging our loyal audience and supporters to consider making a donation, if they are able, to support our small venue at this challenging time.’
