IAMPRO, a slick online platform of drama education resources founded by Charlie Brooks, who played Janine Butcher in Eastenders, is far less of a headache to navigate than the intricacies of Janine's love life, and will cost you less than a round at the Vic (£15 for a monthly subscription). The extensive courses library features videos from jobbing actors, directors and writers – all delivered in HD quality with crystal clear focus and frothy enthusiasm.

Co-founder Ben Brooks, former The Bill actor and cameraman for shows such as Man Down and Episodes, manages the tech side, and education expert Emma Brooks takes care of the day to day. The tutors take care of the rest, and you, the actor, it feels. Accent coach and Bristol Old Vic graduate, Alix Dunmore's study of the chiaroscuro of Celtic chat is a particular highlight. From Niall Phillip's step by step guide to the matryoshka layers of acting (the ‘circles of attention’) to Russell Clark's whistle stop tour through theatre companies and practised techniques, it doesn't matter whether you're a GCSE or A Level student or an old hand looking for a new contract to sign, you're bound to learn a few new tricks here.

There's also the opportunity to discuss what you've learnt with peers/tutors on the community chat, to take part in live sessions (also available on catch up), 1-to-1 mentoring, open mic sessions and compete in self-tape challenges. You can take your pick there too, with a range of roles from contemporary and classic plays: everything from a shrew (The Taming of…) to a shrewd critic of love (Mare of Easttown).

With the ease that comes from it being an online platform, you can get lessons in kitchen sink drama from your living room and keep coming back for more.
