Judges revealed for Music & Drama Education Awards

Nominations have closed and an expert judging panel has been announced for the Music & Drama Education Awards 2023, which will celebrate the extraordinary work in performing arts education.

An expert panel of judges for the Music & Drama Education Awards 2023 has been announced.

Judged by a panel chaired by editor of Drama & Theatre magazine Freya Parr and editor of Music Teacher magazine Harriet Richards, the Awards will take place on 23 February 2023. 

Bringing expertise from across the drama education sector, the judges in the drama and crossover categories are:

  • James Clarke - head of Drama at Twyford CofE School
  • Patrice Baldwin - international speaker, writer, ‘Drama for Learning’ consultant and teacher trainer
  • Steve Ball - Chair of the Drama and Theatre Education Alliance 
  • Alex Lipman - Senior director of Drama and Music at Claremont High School Academy 
  • Vishni Velada Billson - Drama teacher and director of Open Court at the Royal Court Theatre.

Entries for the Awards have now closed. The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on 23 February by a special guest host.
