The programme of free-to-attend CPD sessions at the Music & Drama Education Expo 2023 is now live.

Taking place at the Business Design Centre in London on 23 and 24 February, the Expo is Europe’s largest conference and exhibition for music and drama educators.

Following a competitive call for papers process, the sessions were selected by heads of content Sarah Lambie (drama) and Harriet Richards (music).

Taking place across the Keynote Theatre, Seminar Theatre, The Workshop, The Space, and – back for 2023 – the Sharing Lab, the drama workshops and seminars have been selected to support classroom teachers, administrators, specialists, non-specialists, and those working in SEND settings, from the early years to Key Stage 5.

The CPD sessions run alongside a vibrant exhibition of leading drama education organisations, charities, publishers and exam boards.

Highlights which have been announced so far include ‘Developing communication skills, youth leadership and careers education through performance’ with Sue Clarke from Trinity College London; ‘Empowering the student-as-theatre-maker: A discussion on assessment for A Level and beyond’ with Phil Cleaves; and ‘Exploring a picture book through drama’ with Patrice Baldwin.

More CPD sessions will be added to the main programme as they are confirmed, with five further sessions for drama delegates planned for Day 1, and eight further sessions yet to be announced on Day 2.

An accompanying programme of sessions in the Exhibitor Showcase Theatre, live performances, and fireside chats will be published in the coming months.
